Laboratory Exercise: Getting Around Maple (intrompl.htm)

For each worksheet, follow these steps.

  1. Find the Maple worksheet you want from the list below. Hold down the Shift key while you click on the file to open a dialogue box.

  2. Save the file you have selected to your own floppy disk or hard drive.

  3. Start the Maple program and open the file you have just saved.

  4. Follow the instructions in the Maple file.

  5. Be sure to save your work frequently!

The three Maple worksheets.

  1. basics1.mws introduces the features of Maple's Toolbar (in text mode).

  2. basics2.mws introduces mathematics with Maple. Topics include executing mathematical input, creating formulas, trigonometry, algebra, and defining functions.

  3. basics3.mws introduces Maple's plotting capabilities. Topics include plots and graphs in Cartesian coordinates, displaying multiple plots in a single plot window, the implicitplot command, and plots for lines, circles, and ellipses. Four required exercises are located at the end of this worksheet.

Be patient. This takes time.

Be careful. This is not necessarily an easy task.
